We are all religious

Some atheist ‘life-stancers’ come across as bigots with a Nazi-like belief that religious people are somehow ‘lower order’.

But what if atheists and other ‘non-religious’ people were to recognise themselves as essentially religious (lowercase r)  too, would that change their attitudes to other Religious (uppercase r) people?

As I have argued before, secular humanism can be religious. Here is someone who argues that we are all religious, but some don’t like to use that label because of its negative connotations: The Meaning of Life

Not using an appropriate label because you are afraid of the opinions of others seems gutless and herd-like to me.
